Accessing & Using Digital Tools
How do I get my files after purchasing?
- For Free Printables: Your digital download is available on-screen immediately after entering your name and email address.
- For Paid Products: A secure download link is sent straight to your email inbox immediately after your purchase is complete. If you register and create an account, your resources will also be safely stored and accessible anytime in your personal customer dashboard.
My email never arrived. How can I get my files?
Please check your spam, junk, or promotions folders. If it is still missing, your email address may have had a typo during checkout. Use the contact form below so we can update your account.
Do my file access links ever expire?
Your resources will remain accessible inside your account dashboard indefinitely. However, individual download links are limited to 7 total download attempts. We recommend saving the files directly to your computer or immediately after accessing them.
I downloaded my file, but it will not open on my device. What should I do?
- On Smartphones and Tablets: Mobile devices often lack a built-in application capable of handling high-resolution, multi-page resources. Please transfer the file to a laptop or desktop computer, or download a dedicated document viewing application from your device’s app store.
- On Desktop and Laptop Computers: If the file displays an error or fails to load, your internet browser’s preview mode is likely struggling with the file size. Instead of clicking the file to view it inside your web browser, locate the file inside your computer’s “Downloads” folder, right-click it, and choose to open it using a dedicated, up-to-date document reader.
The download completes, but the file icon shows up as blank or unreadable.
This usually indicates that the download process was interrupted before the file could finish saving completely. Delete the partial file from your device, restart your internet browser, and click your secure download link again to complete a fresh download.

How long does an individual course take to complete?
Each standalone course provides approximately 50 minutes of active instruction. This timeframe natively accounts for core concept learning as well as 2–3 hands-on activities designed to keep students fully engaged.
What is the 3-Part Active Learning Framework?
This is a proprietary instructional framework designed by Dr. Danielle Reid, built from her 15+ years of expertise in learning design, instructional delivery, and extensive study of the science of learning. Dr. Reid leveraged this deep scientific foundation alongside her own real-world experience homeschooling her three children to craft this specialized learning framework. Under this custom layout, every single lesson dynamically guides a student through a set sequence: Think!, Gather!, Do!, and Share! This model ensures that learners successfully bridge the gap between classroom theory and practical, real-world professional skills.
How much lesson preparation is required for the instructor?
Our courses require absolutely minimal preparation. Every program includes detailed Coach Notes that function as your step-by-step guide. These notes deliver instant pacing suggestions, teaching resources, and background context so you can pick up a lesson and go.
What are Companion Pages and the Career Playbook?
Companion Pages act as interactive notebook sheets where students document what they learn. Students can compile these sheets into a Career Playbook to build a comprehensive professional portfolio. The playbook files are fully digital and compatible with apps like Goodnotes and Notion.

How do I combine the various resources into a cohesive full-year or semester course?
Our entire ecosystem stacks modularly. You can use a full Curriculum Course as your instructional anchor, assign Career Kits for independent student deep dives, drop in Microlessons for quick skill reinforcement, and pull targeted Activity Sheets to map out application days.
What is the structural difference between a Career Kit and a full Curriculum Course?
Career Kits are 30+ page standalone, open-and-go printable packages built specifically for independent learning for ages 12+. They require zero prep and zero teacher instruction. Full Courses are immersive, mentor-led programs that expand the material with 140+ page instructor guides, interactive digital slides, and extensive workplace simulations.
How do Microlessons and Career Quick Start Guides fit into a student's schedule?
These act as targeted accelerators within your timeline. Microlessons are bite-sized micro-courses focusing on hyper-focused industry strategies designed for quick absorption. Quick Start Guides and Planners serve as real-world workforce cheat sheets, giving learners an immediate roadmap when exploring a specific profession or making a career pivot.
How do I choose the correct Activity Sheets to supplement my custom program?
Our activity sheets are divided by developmental learning stages:

Yes! Our lessons are entirely modular, so you can mix and match them to build a completely custom career journey. This planner allows you to structure custom schedules and organize your entire academic year on any tablet or computer.

What is the educational philosophy behind your curriculum?
Our curriculum is built entirely on the truth in the science of learning: we learn best and retain information in long-term memory through active, hands-on learning coupled with strong learning delivery that is engaging, relatable, and practical. Powered by our parent company, Science L.E.A.F, our resources skip dry lectures and giant textbooks, combining structural pedagogy and creativity to turn career discovery into an active, meaningful experience.
Does this curriculum follow state educational standards?
No. We do not align any curriculum product to specific state standards because every state has unique CTE standards specific to the job market in that state. To keep our resources completely universal and flexible for all learning spaces, we strictly follow the ACTE framework for career clusters. This nationally trusted and adopted framework allows us to organize clear pathways for universal career exploration.
How do you grade or assess student work in these courses?
Our curriculum focuses on practical application rather than rigid standardized testing. Lessons utilize Companion Pages where students document their discoveries, and Career Kits feature built-in completion checklists for self-assessment. To assist educators, our Curriculum Courses include specific rubrics that parents and teachers can easily use. Instructors can seamlessly evaluate student growth through portfolio building, real-world workplace simulations, and character reflection activities.
How do you produce so many resources? Do you use AI?
While all major publishers use AI to help generate initial ideas for content, speed doesn’t guarantee instructional quality or trust. Through our parent company, Science L.E.A.F, we have served as experts and quality assurance specialists guiding external publishers on how to properly handle AI-generated content through strict QA systems.
At Think Skill Tools, our approach is to use AI strictly for generating ideas only. From there, our dedicated in-house team of editors and subject matter experts (collectively holding Master’s and Doctoral-level degrees with 15+ years of teaching and education experience) completely takes over. Our internal Project Management Office, led by a certified Project Management Professional (Dr. Danielle Reid), enforces rigid quality assurance processes to ensure that every single workbook and course we produce is highly authentic, personalized, and customized for the learner. How do I buy your curriculum and get reimbursed by Step Up?
- Shop & Checkout: Browse our site and purchase your materials using your personal credit or debit card.
- Download Your Receipt: Your secure digital invoice is emailed to you instantly upon checkout. Our receipts are fully itemized, which is exactly what Step Up requires.
- Submit to Step Up: Log into your parent portal, upload our digital invoice, and submit a Reimbursement Request.
- Get Reimbursed: Step Up For Students will review the receipt against their current Purchasing Guidelines and deposit the funds back into your account.
Group, Classroom & Institutional Use
Can I use this curriculum in a homeschool Co-op setting?
Absolutely! Our curriculum is an ideal, plug-and-play solution for alternative learning environments and co-ops. Please note that our standard digital download license covers one educator/classroom. If multiple families within your co-op will be using or downloading the student files at home, each family will need to purchase their own license, or the co-op can purchase a multi-user bundle.
How do I implement these resources inside a traditional K-12 classroom?
The modular framework allows you to easily plug individual lessons into existing career exploration blocks, homeroom tracks, or elective periods. You can display our interactive digital slides on a classroom projector while students fill out their printable Companion Pages or Career Playbooks at their desks.
Do you support district-wide implementations or purchases?
We partner with school districts and educational entities exclusively through formal approved vendor channels. District procurement cannot be processed through our online digital store. Instead, institutional partners purchase directly through our specialized Career Education Catalogs, which feature products completely separate from our standard retail store. We separate these offerings because each catalog product is designed to be uniquely customized to your specific state standards and local school requirements.
